Morson Praxis’ Examination & Visualisation Environment (EVE) has been shortlisted for two awards at the TechFest Awards 2026, recognising its application of digital engineering, smart data collection and artificial intelligence in asset management.
EVE has been named a finalist in the following categories:
- Software Innovation: Intelligence & Insight
- Best Use of Technology: Artificial Intelligence
The recognition reflects EVE’s role in transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected, understood and managed. The platform combines high-fidelity visualisation, analytical tools and AI-enhanced capabilities to create a digital representation of physical assets.
Using data captured through drones and advanced cameras, EVE can create interactive 3D environments that allow engineering teams to examine assets remotely, assess condition and identify potential defects. Machine learning techniques can also support object and defect recognition, helping engineers make more informed assessments.
The approach has been developed through Morson Praxis’ work with Network Rail and Nottingham Trent University, including trials across masonry bridge and viaduct assets. The project has explored how digital data, machine learning and automated BIM model creation can support Network Rail’s wider Digital Railway strategy.

“The EVE platform is an evolution of this research and development project and is designed to provide a single source of truth for asset condition monitoring, bringing visual and engineering data together to support maintenance planning, lifecycle management and strategic decision-making across a broad range of industries.”
The solution can also reduce the need for personnel to undertake physical inspections in hazardous environments, enabling engineers to review and analyse asset data remotely.
The two nominations recognise the wider potential of this approach: using technology not simply to capture more data, but to turn that data into practical engineering intelligence.
The winners will be announced at the TechFest Awards 2026 on Wednesday 25 November 2026, at the Hilton London Metropole.
