Congratulations to Senior Engineer, Mehmet Ertem, who has recently become Chartered at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Chartered Engineer status is an important professional milestone, recognising an engineer’s technical knowledge, professional competence and commitment to continued development. The process also provides an opportunity to demonstrate expertise, strengthen professional skills and reflect on experience gained throughout a career.

After spending 11 years working in Türkiye, Mehmet moved to the UK in 2021 and joined Morson Praxis in November 2023. He has been working on EDF’s Hinkley Point C project, where the supportive environment has enabled him to continue developing his knowledge and skills. Through the chartership process, Mehmet gained further knowledge, particularly in commercial and sustainability, while strengthening his broader professional capabilities.

Reflecting on his achievement, Mehmet Ertem said:

“A special thank you to Daniel Parkin CEng MICE and Dilina Hettiarachchi, CEng MICE, for their continuous support and encouragement throughout the chartership journey. I am sincerely grateful for the time they dedicated, their valuable guidance, and their willingness to make themselves available whenever I needed help or advice.”

Looking ahead, Mehmet plans to take the IStructE exam and has already begun supporting colleagues at Morson Praxis with their own chartership journeys, sharing the knowledge and experience he has gained along the way.

Congratulations, Mehmet, on this fantastic professional achievement and best of luck with your next milestone!
