Morson Praxis was appointed to EDF Energy’s engineering framework for the Hinkley Point C project in 2014, providing specialist engineering and project management consultancy services.
This appointment followed our successful contribution to EDF Energy’s West Burton CCGT project, where our technical capability and delivery approach established us as a trusted long-term partner.
Hinkley Point C represents a landmark in Britain’s energy landscape — the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations designed to deliver reliable, zero-carbon electricity to around six million homes.
The £19.6bn project is one of the largest and most complex construction schemes in Europe, creating over 22,000 job opportunities throughout its decade-long build. Once operational, it will play a vital role in supporting the UK’s transition to a sustainable energy future and contribute significantly to national net-zero ambitions.
Showcasing our engineering expertise and innovative solutions delivered at Hinkley Point C.
As part of EDF Energy’s framework, Morson Praxis provided multidisciplinary support across a range of engineering and management activities. Our role was to act as a technical specialist and project management consultant, ensuring efficient design coordination, delivery assurance, and engineering excellence across all project stages.
Morson Praxis acted as the Intelligent Customer for EDF, providing technical assurance across design and construction activities. We led BIM integration to improve collaboration and asset management, designed all temporary structures, coordinated minor works packages, and managed engineering and construction issues during the Main Civils phase. Additionally, we supported revisions to main building designs to meet evolving technical and operational requirements.
Through our long-term collaboration with EDF Energy, Morson Praxis has played a key role in supporting the successful engineering and management of critical project phases at Hinkley Point C.
Our expertise in civil, structural, and digital engineering — combined with our project management capability — has helped streamline construction delivery, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with the highest technical and safety standards.
As the project continues toward completion, Morson Praxis remains proud to contribute to a scheme that will power millions of homes with clean, reliable energy and set a new benchmark for innovation and collaboration in the UK’s nuclear sector.
