Client Brief
Improving Fire Safety Across Existing Custodial Facilities
As part of a wider programme of fire safety improvements across the custodial estate, HMYOI Deerbolt required upgrades to its existing fire protection and building services systems.
Morson Praxis was appointed by Imtech, working on behalf of Galliford Try, to provide specialist design support for the replacement and enhancement of critical fire safety infrastructure across the accommodation wings.
Project Overview
Delivering Enhanced Fire Protection Systems
The project involved the replacement of existing smoke ventilation systems, fire hose reels, and emergency lighting throughout all accommodation wings. The works also included the installation of new high-pressure misting units to provide an improved fire suppression solution.
Additional improvements included the provision of new in-cell radio-operated fire detection and aspiration systems within the Segregation Block, alongside associated low voltage (LV) distribution upgrades and alarm installations to monitor fault signals from the new mechanical plant.
