Morson Praxis were appointed by Imtech to provide Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Design for a new-build private hospital in Birmingham. The project aimed to deliver a state-of-the-art facility offering high-quality care and hospitality in the heart of Edgbaston’s Medical Quarter.
Circle Health required a private hospital that matched their standards of clinical excellence and patient experience. The new £21.85 million facility would complement their existing portfolio in Bath, Nottingham, and Reading, providing modern healthcare services to the Birmingham area.
The hospital, scheduled to open in 2020, includes operating theatres, patient wards, a basement car park, and plantrooms. The design integrates mechanical and electrical systems to meet operational, safety, and comfort requirements for both staff and patients.

Morson Praxis collated RIBA Stage 4 design information from smoke ventilation, CHP, and M&E specialists, delivering a comprehensive M&E design check for compliance. We also designed lighting, operating theatres, natural gas systems, plantroom ventilation, cold water storage, and the basement car park.
The project provided Circle Health with a fully coordinated and compliant M&E design, ensuring efficient and safe operations. The hospital is set to offer high-quality patient care and operational excellence while meeting all technical and regulatory standards.
