Morson Praxis were appointed by Midas Construction to provide Civil and Structural Engineering services for the two-phase Maidment Court care home development, supporting the project from tender stage through to construction.
The brief was to deliver a high-quality care home development that would provide modern, accessible accommodation and support facilities for residents, incorporating both traditional masonry and steel-framed construction methods across two distinct phases.
Maidment Court comprises a two and three-storey traditional load-bearing masonry care home and an eight-storey steel-framed assisted living facility. Phase 1 included 40 studios for rent and shared communal areas, while Phase 2 consisted of 47 one- and two-bedroom apartments for mixed tenure.
High-quality design and construction for modern care and assisted living accommodation.
Our Civil and Structural Engineering team provided design and technical support from tender through to construction, ensuring both phases were structurally efficient, compliant with all regulations, and coordinated with the construction programme. Phase 1 accommodated existing residents during construction, and Phase 2 delivered high-quality mixed-tenure apartments.
The two-phase development successfully delivered modern, accessible care and assisted living accommodation, meeting the client’s requirements for quality, functionality, and resident comfort while maintaining construction efficiency and programme timelines.
