A huge congratulations to JDO Civil Lead, Dan Parkin, who has achieved Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
Fellowship is the highest grade of membership awarded by ICE and is recognised internationally as a significant professional achievement. Dan has been working towards his Fellowship over the last year alongside his role on the Hinkley Point C project, where he is responsible for the team managing site queries for the reinforced concrete buildings across the project.
Dan has been part of the Hinkley Point C project since 2018, progressing through a range of roles and responsibilities that have provided opportunities to develop his technical and leadership skills. This experience has supported his professional journey, from becoming a Chartered Engineer seven years ago to achieving ICE Fellowship.
Throughout his career, Dan has benefited from the guidance and support of his mentors, Malcolm Curtis and Naran Shankla. Mentoring is an important part of our Early Careers Development Programme, helping our people build their skills, knowledge and confidence as they progress in their careers.
Reflecting on his achievement, Dan Parkin said:
“I have always looked up to Fellows as leaders and mentors and so am delighted to be recognised at this level. Both Hinkley Point C and Morson Praxis have supported me along my journey by providing me with the roles and opportunities to develop my technical and leadership skills and so I am very grateful to all of the Engineers and colleagues that I have worked with throughout my career.”
