Client Brief
Expanding Cold Storage Capacity
Working alongside DHL, Iceland Frozen Foods required the conversion of an existing chilled distribution facility in Warrington into a purpose-built frozen food warehouse. The project needed to deliver a modern, fit-for-purpose cold store while maintaining the operational requirements of a live distribution environment.
The refurbishment also required confidence that the existing building could accommodate the new cold store infrastructure without unnecessary structural intervention, helping to minimise programme costs and disruption.

Delivering a State-of-the-Art Cold Store
Morson Praxis worked closely with the client to design the expansion and refurbishment of the existing facility, creating a state-of-the-art frozen food warehouse. Through detailed surveys and advanced structural analysis, our team confirmed that the existing building was capable of supporting the new cold store panels without requiring structural strengthening.
As the site remained fully operational throughout the project, the works were carefully phased to minimise disruption to DHL’s distribution activities. This approach enabled goods to continue being delivered to supermarkets while construction progressed safely and efficiently.
