Morson Praxis partnered with BRE Academy to deliver a collaborative session focused on ISO 19650 training and certification, reinforcing the importance of consistent information management standards across the built environment.
The session explored the principles of ISO 19650 and how structured Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes support improved collaboration, risk reduction and more efficient project delivery. With digital standards continuing to shape the future of construction and infrastructure, the initiative provided valuable insight into how organisations can align with best practice and strengthen their information management capabilities.
The collaboration reflects Morson Praxis’ ongoing commitment to driving digital excellence and supporting professional development within the industry. By working alongside BRE Academy, the session combined practical industry experience with accredited training expertise, ensuring attendees gained both technical understanding and real-world context.
Veronica Ruby-Lewis, Associate Director/ Lead BIM Consultant shared:
“As part of our BIM roll-out across the business, we committed early on to achieving formal Business Systems Certification. We gained BRE BIM Level 2 Systems Certification in 2017 and later transitioned to BRE ISO 19650-2:2018 BIM Certification for Businesses in 2021.
“To support and maintain this standard, we recognised that strengthening BIM capability meant more than adopting new technologies, it required embedding robust processes and upskilling our people. We partnered with the BRE Academy, enrolling multiple cohorts onto their BIM programmes, and we continue to invest in this training for all new technical employees to ensure we uphold our certification.
“The value of BIM capability is two-fold. For the business, it has improved productivity and strengthened our competitive position, leading to increased repeat work. For our people, it has enhanced skills, collaboration and communication across disciplines.”
Hayley Edwards, BRE Academy Marketing Manager, shared:
“We’re proud to have supported Morson Praxis on their BIM learning journey over many years. From Foundation training through to certification, it’s been rewarding to see how their commitment to developing in-house expertise has strengthened their capability to deliver high-quality digital construction outcomes. As the industry continues to prioritise information management and the principles of the Golden Thread, organisations like Morson Praxis demonstrate the value of investing in people, skills, and structured BIM training.”
