As part of our ‘Meet the team’ series, we caught up with Harley Hanson, Digital Compliance Apprentice who is part of our Compliance team, and is also currently enrolled on our wider Early Careers Development Programme.
Based in our Adamson House office, Harley has been working at Morson Praxis since 2025, where at the age of 18 we welcomed him as a Digital Compliance Apprentice.
Harley is currently studying a apprenticeship in AI Business solutions with Apprentify, and is due to finish in 2027.
We caught up with Harley to hear more about their Early Careers Development Programme journey so far:
Hi Harley! What has your education journey been like so far?

“I first realised I wanted a career in IT security while I was at high school. I chose computer science as one of my GCSEs and although I enjoyed the subject it was a work experience placement that really confirmed this was the path I wanted to take.
“When it came to choosing a college course, a Level 3 Cyber Security and Computer Science course at FutureSkills stood out to me. At the time, it felt like a big decision as I saw it as the first real step towards my future career. During my time there, my interest in IT continued to grow along with my confidence and technical skills.
“As I finished college, I was not entirely sure what my next step would be, whether that was university work or an apprenticeship. I knew an apprenticeship was what I really wanted, so I continued applying even though I knew how competitive they could be. Eventually, I was invited to interview with Morson, and I am really glad I took that opportunity. Since joining the team, I have felt right at home and could not imagine working anywhere else.”
What are some of the most interesting projects you’ve worked on?
“One of the most interesting projects I have worked on has been creating the audit trackers for this year. Being involved from the start gave me a better understanding of how audits are planned, tracked, and managed across the business.
“I will also be supporting and attending these audits, which is something I am really looking forward to. This will give me the opportunity to travel around the country and visit different locations, as well as travel to other countries. Along the way, I expect to continue learning and gaining hands on experience, helping me to expand my knowledge and confidence in the role.”
What motivates you in your work?
“I am motivated by the opportunity to learn and develop while contributing to meaningful work. As a Digital Compliance Apprentice, I enjoy gaining a better understanding of IT security and compliance and seeing how these areas play an important role in supporting the organisation.
“What motivates me most is knowing that the work I do has real value. Whether it is supporting compliance processes, improving security awareness, or learning how systems and policies work together, I find it rewarding to be part of a team that values accuracy and responsibility.
“Since joining Morson, I have felt supported in my development and encouraged to build my skills and confidence. Being able to learn on the job while contributing to the wider business motivates me day to day and reassures me that I am on the right career path.”
How does the company support your professional growth and development?
“From the moment I joined Morson, I have felt supported in my professional development. As an apprentice, I am given the opportunity to learn on the job while also developing my knowledge through structured training, which has helped me build confidence and practical experience.
“The team at Morson are always approachable and willing to share their knowledge, which makes it easy to ask questions and learn from those around me. This supportive environment has helped me develop a stronger understanding of digital compliance and IT security while gradually taking on new responsibilities.
“What I value most is the encouragement to continue learning and improving. I am supported in developing my skills and growing within my role, which has helped me feel confident about my future at Morson.”
What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
“Over the next five years, I aim to continue developing my knowledge and experience within digital compliance and IT security. My main focus is to build a strong foundation and gain a deeper understanding of compliance, risk management, and best practice.
“As I progress, I would like to take on more responsibility and become a reliable and trusted member of the team. I am keen to keep learning, developing my skills, and applying what I learn in a practical way.
“Ultimately, I hope to continue growing my career at Morson and develop into a knowledgeable professional who can contribute positively to the business over the long term.”
What tips would you give to others starting out in industry?
“One piece of advice I would give is to be open to learning and not be afraid to ask questions. Starting out in industry can feel challenging at times, but everyone starts somewhere and asking for support is an important part of learning.
“It is also helpful to take opportunities when they arise, whether that is learning something new or getting involved in different tasks. Being willing to learn and show interest can really support your development.
“Finally, be patient with yourself. Progress takes time, but with consistency and the right support, you can build confidence and work towards a rewarding career.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and taking a step back from the working day. I think it is important to have a good balance between work and personal life, as this helps me stay focused.
“I also like keeping up to date with technology and continuing to build on my interest in IT outside of work, whether that is learning about new developments or exploring how technology is used. Alongside this, I enjoy relaxing and unwinding in my spare time.
“Having interests outside of work helps me maintain a positive mindset and supports a healthy balance between my professional and personal life.”
