Morson Praxis were appointed to provide multi-disciplinary services for a £10 million extra care and residential development for Jessup Brothers in Shifnal. The scheme combines both extra care and residential units, delivering high-quality housing to meet community needs.
Jessup Brothers required a developer-led project that included 70 extra care units alongside 60 residential units. The scheme was designed to meet the criteria for HE grant funding under the 2017 programme, with the remaining units delivered as private housing.
The development provides purpose-built accommodation to support independent living and community integration, combining specialist extra care units with standard residential homes. The project aimed to enhance local housing provision while meeting funding and planning requirements.

Morson Praxis supported the team from the introduction of the scheme to Wrekin Housing and assisted with the land purchase, providing CDM services, civil and structural engineering, employer’s agent duties, principal designer responsibilities, and quantity surveying for the ongoing project.
The scheme is progressing successfully, providing a mix of extra care and residential units that meet funding requirements, support community needs, and deliver high-quality, sustainable housing for Shifnal.
